For the 4th this year we headed down to Cedar City. On the way we stopped at Big Rock Candy Mt. and had a picnic and played around on a ropes course. Then we went to Bryce canyon later that night. We had dinner there and drove through the park. My camera broke right when we got to the park so we didn't get any other pictures the rest of our trip. The next day we went boating at quail lake. It was alot of fun. That night we drove up cedar canyon and roasted hot dogs for dinner and watched the fireworks at Brian Head. We had a great weekend.

Last weekend we went to Payson Lakes with all my girl friends from Payson. We had a little picnic with our families and just hung out. It was a lot of fun.

For my birthday this past Saturday Chew took me and the kids shopping. I got so spoiled. After a little shopping we went and ate lunch at Los Hermanos. Then we went and did some more shopping. Later that night Chew told me he was going to take me to dinner, but when we got there all my friends were there for a surprise. It was so much fun. Thanks to my wonderful husband for spoiling me and getting all my friends together.

Weber State Football Golf Tournament

This past Friday was the annual golf tournament for weber state football. And this year I got to play in it with Chew, my brother in law, and our friend Ben. Jagger was our little helper. He loved it! We played pretty good, but not good enough to win. Oh well, it was alot of fun.

This past saturday was chew's 28th birthday. So after the Ogden marathon we went and had lunch at Pei Wei. It was really good. Then later that night we had dinner at my parents and some dessert. Then we went and watched the new Robin Hood.

This past weekend me and a few of the girls I work with ran in the Ogden Marathon. I was part of the relay run. I ran the last leg of the relay which was 3.2 miles. It was a beautiful day to run. We had a lot of fun. It is becoming and annual thing for our salon so it is way fun.

The day of jag's birthday we took him to go see How to Train a Dragon. He didn't want to leave the 3D glasses on so it was probably really blurry for him to watch. But he still loved it. After we went back and did presents with grandma and grandpa Shaw. I still can't believe he is 3!

This past saturday we celebrated Jag's 3rd birthday. His birthday isn't for a couple of days but we had to take advantage of the warm weather, so we decided to go to the zoo. After the zoo we went to dinner at Red Robin and then had cake and opened presents at my mom and dads house.

4th anniversary

Yesterday was our 4th anniversary. I can't believe it has already been 4 years. We had dinner at Log Haven, which was very good. We then went and had desert at the Melting Pot. The chocolate fondue is probably one of my top deserts. It was so good. Thanks babe for a great night and for 4 great years.

Jag got a new fishing pole for easter and so this past weekend we took him fishing. We went with one of the coaches, who is a big time fisherman, up to the Weber river. Luckily we went with someome who knew what he was doing because he caught about 6 fish and Chew only caught one little pathetic fish. Jag loved it at first until we told him he needed to touch the fish after he caught them. Then he said he just wanted to practice and not really catch one. It was alot of fun.

St. George Triathalon

This past easter weekend me, Desi, and Lee did a triathalon in St. George. It was so much fun. We actually all took first place in our age groups. The triathalon was a 200 yard swim, 5 mile bike, and 1.5 mile run. It is definitely something I want to do again.

Spring Break Weekend

So for spring break we decided to go play in the snow. We went with some friends up to Bear Lake where we stayed in a cabin. We did some snowmobiling, sledding and lots of relaxing.

SUU competed up at the University of Utah this past Friday. It was a great meet. The t-birds looked amazing. It was also a lot of fun to see some of my old teammates at the meet.

This past friday me and chew went and ate dinner at the Roof. It was a very neat place to eat. For anyone that has not eaten there I recommend it. We then went to the movie Valentines Day. It was a great night out. On Saturday we took the kids to the Jazz game. Jag was the luckiest kid that night. He caught a shirt and a ball and got sprayed by the Jazz bear. He loved it. It was a really fun game.

This weekend we had a lot of fun. It was the first weekend in a long time where we got to hang out with Chew. So on friday we went to the Weber State basketball game. Jag loves going to the games. Then on Saturday we went to the circus that was here in town. It was so much fun. Jagger even got to ride one of the elephants. Then on Sunday we had a dinner with one of my good friends from college that now lives right by us. It sure was nice to finally have a normal weekend.

This past sunday was Skylee's blessing. Chew did such a good job. And Skylee looked so precious in the dress and cape that my mom made her. She looked like a little snow white. After the blessing we had a dinner with all our family and friends at the weber state stadium. It turned out very nice. However there was a little craziness to the day. Chew's mom and dad never showed up to the blessing so we were all very nervous something happened to them, since they have never missed anything like this before. Well we called and called and no answer. So during the dinner Chew ended up going around looking for his parents. After about 3 or 4 hours Chew and his brother finally found their parents at Iggy's. They had just totally spaced it and their phones didn't show that they had missed calls. We were just glad everything was ok. It was definitely a crazy day.

For New Years this year me and chew had a night out without the kids. We had dinner with some friends downtown salt lake then we stayed the night at the Marriot. It was a fun relaxing night with the hubby. Great start to the new year.

This Christmas Eve we spent with the Hammer side. We had a very yummy dinner then played cards and opened some presents.

Christmas morning 2009. After we did presents at our house we headed down to Genola because Jeff was calling at noon from his mission. It was really good to talk to him. He sounded really good.

My mom and dad decided to redo my old rocking chair from when I was a little girl, and give it to Skylee for christmas.

Party number 4 is with just our immediate shaw family. This year we just did it after our bowling party. My dad always takes us to Market Street Grill once a year, so for our party this year that is what we did. After dinner we attempted to go on the hayride at Wheeler farms, but the wait was to long for all the little ones.

Party number 3 is a tradition that we have done since I could remember. My grandpa Shaw loved to take all of us bowling for our christmas party. I'm so glad that we have kept the tradition going even though both my grandpa and grandma Shaw have passed away. We got together with all of our cousins this year and bowled in West Jordan. After we got done bowling we went to the PIE for some pizza.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a little bit different this year. Webers football team made the playoffs and their first game was in Virginia, the Saturday after thanksgiving. So I decided I wanted to go with the team. So we dropped the kids off at my mom and dads house on Thanksgiving morning. We didn't get to eat the awesome thanksgiving meal that my mom made because we flew out that day. But we had a fun weekend in Virgina, minus the fact that Weber got their butts kicked and are now out of the playoffs.

For Halloween weekend we went down to Genola. We had a great time at my mom and dad's house. We went to gardner village with my family and had lunch, then we went to the Genola trunk or treat. My mom came up the last day in the hospital with me since Chew had to go to Washington. She stayed with us for a few nights helping me get adjusted. It was so nice to have her come up. She really helped me out a ton. Thanks mom for all you do. We love you.

Baby Skylee Don Hammer is Here!

Well baby Skylee is finally here after one crazy week. I was going to be induced Sunday the 4th, but the night before I got feeling sick so we thought they might start me that Saturday night. So we went to the hospital thinking we would maybe have a baby that night but they told me I had flu like symptoms and that the induction would have to wait. Well the next day I got feeling worse so I went back to the hospital and was told that I had the swine flu and that I needed to keep my baby in as long as I could to get the flu out of me. Let me just say the next four days were HELL! Swine flu is not fun especially when you are nine months pregnant. I didn't only stop there. A couple of days after I got sick, Jag also was taken to the hospital and we found out he had the flu. So we were both very sick. Well things got better and on Wed. night I started into labor. I was blessed to have such and easy delivery after all I had been through. I had to wear a mask while in the hospital but we are both doing really well. She was 6 lbs. 5 oz. and 19 inches long.

Weber Vs. the Cowboys

This past weekend was the season opener for the wildcats. They played the University of Wyoming Cowboys. Me, my mom, my dad, and Jag made the long trip up to Laramie to go watch. It was such a long boring drive, but Jagger was a champ. Well it was quiet an exciting game. But things didn't end up the way we wanted. Weber ended up losing 22 to 29. It was a fun game though. The best part was seeing this crazy old man that was a Cowboy fan dressed in nothing but a can held up with suspenders and his hat and boots. Jag asked "where he's pants and shirt mom?" They had some crazy fans. Let's just hope the season will only get better from this game on.

Summer Vacation to Minnesota

For our summer vacation this year we went to Minnesota. It was not one of our first choices of places to go, but my good friend from college, Leah Sahkitab, was getting married there so we decided to make her wedding trip our summer vacation spot. Me and Chew spent six days there, and we had a great time.

Here is a little recap of how our trip went-

Our first day in Minnesota we went and did all the tourist site seeing downtown Minneapolis. It is a very cool city that sits right on the Mississippi river. We went to a sculputre park, toured the flour mill, saw the U of M campus, and went down by the river. We then met up with my friend Jess Langley that lives in Minnesota and she made us dinner that night. It was so fun hanging out with her. It brought back lots of memories from our good old college days.
This is supposed to be one of the famous statues in Minnesota. I don't really know why a cherry on a spoon is that important. But it was pretty fun to see.

Friday we spent the whole day at the Mall of America. It was huge! My favorite part was the kids Nickeloden amusement park right in the middle of the mall. They had about every store that you could imagine. I did alot of shopping for our little girl. I was so tired by the end of the day. It took us about four hours to go through the whole mall. It was crazy.

On Saturday we went downtown St. Paul and looked at all the cool sites, and then went to Leah and Dave's wedding in Hugo.

Sunday was a really fun day. We went to the horse races at Cantebury Parks. I used to go to horse races all the time when I was little, but haven't been to one in a very long time. We weren't so hot on all the betting. We ended up loosing money, but it was still way fun.

On Monday we went to the oldest town in Minnesota called Stillwater. It is right on the St. Croix river. The river is actually the border line between Minnesota and Wisconsin. It was a fun old town. We had lunch and did some shopping.

Our last day in Minnesota we went to the Como Zoo in St. Paul. It was a pretty small zoo, but was very fun.

Thanks mom and dad for watching Jagger the whole time that we were gone. I'm sure he had just as much fun as we did.

Fourth of July Weekend in Yellowstone

For the fourth this year we decided to take a quick trip up to Yellowstone Park. We left on Friday and drove to Jackson Hole. We didn't really have our trip planned so we drove around looking for some where to stay. Well it was a very busy week in Jackson so we ended up staying in a pretty ghetto motel. It was funny becasue the lady asked us if we wanted to check out the room before we decided to stay there. That made us a little worried. It actually wasn't too bad. After we got checked in we went downtown and ate dinner and walked around. Saturday morning we got up ate breakfast in Jackson and headed straight to Yellowstone Park. The weather got pretty rainy and cold so we mostly just drove around. We saw a few animals, old faithful, and a cool little waterfall. But we decided we needed to leave the park kind of early because we were going to drive all the way back home that day, and the weather was not cooperating with our plans to do any hiking. After we got out of the park we ate at West Yellowstone and headed home. It was quite the drive, but we made it home just in time to go to see the Ogden fire works. It was a great time that we got to spend together.

Swimming+Rodeos+and Carnivals= Summer Fun

Summer has begun! I always love the summer time because there are so many fun things to do. Here are just a few things that we have been up to.

This was just two days before Jeff left on his mission. Me, Desi, Nicole, and Jeff all went to the Payson pool to have one final day with Jeff before he left.

Aunt Desi taking Jagger to do the candy race at the good old Genola Rodeo Days. He was still pretty little to all the other kids but Aunt Desi picked him up and ran so Jag could get some candy. It was pretty fun to watch.

Last week was South Ogden days. We decided we needed to take jag to the carnival because he is now big enough to ride the rides. He had a blast.

This last Friday and Saturday was the level 5 and 6 state gymnastics meet. My girls did a great job. We had quite a few event champions, an allaround champion, and a lot of top placings. The level 6 team placed 6th out of twelve teams. Congratulations girls!

This last Friday was my 25th birthday. I can't believe im half way to 50! That's scary. That night Jeff and Jesse had a rodeo in Logan so we went up there and watched their rodeo. After we went to dinner with my family. On Saturday Chew planned on taking me golfing but the weather was rainy all day, so we ended up shopping and going to a movie with Jag. After, we went to dinner at the Union station. It was a great day of hanging out with my boys. Monday ended up being the day we went and did the things we wanted to for my birthday. We went golfing that morning, and it was beautiful. After I went and got a massage with some of the spa package that I got for my birthday. It felt so good, especially being pregnant and all.

For memorial day weekend we went to St. George for a family vacation before Jeff leaves on his mission. We had such a fun time. We hiked, golfed, boated, and just had a relaxing week in the sun.

Since chew is not big on celebrating his birthday, I decided I needed to throw him a surprise party with all his friends and family. So I had everyone meet at Roosters in Ogden for dinner. I was excited I was actually able to keep it a surprise. It was a fun night, and chew was definitely surprised.

Jaggers heart check up

This past friday we had to take Jagger to the hospital to get his heart checked on. When he was only 2 weeks old the doctor heard a heart murmur and so they did a echocardiogram and decided he has a small hole in his heart. The doctor thought that it should close by the time he was two, but when we went in for his check up last week the murmur was still there. So we had to take him to have another echocardiogram done, and also a ekg and a chest x-ray. This time they had to sedate him so he would not move during the test. Lets just say that when he came out of the sedation me and chew have never laughed so hard at him. It was so funny seeing him act like he was drunk. He could barely hold his head up and keep his eyes open. The nurses gave him a sucker and he was having the hardest time finding his mouth. When he tried to walk again, I think he hit every wall possible. It was hilarious. Well we haven't heard back from the doctor yet, so hopefully everything is ok with him.

Monday May 11th was Jaggers 2nd birthday. During the day I took him to the Ogden Dinosaur museum. He loved it. It was our first time there, and it was really fun. Later that night we had another party for him, this time with the Hammer side. We went to Toads Fun Zone where we mini golfed, raced cars, and played lazer tag. It was really fun. Jagger had a great day.

Mothers Day

For mothers day we got to spend time with both sides of the family. We first had brunch at my mom and dads house. Then we went to church with them. After, we drove back up to Kaysville to have dinner with the Hammer side. It was a great day. We are so blessed to have such great moms in our lives.

3 Years!

This past tuesday we celebrated our third anniversary. We decided we wanted to back to the bountiful temple where we were married and do some sealings. It was a neat experience especially because it was our anniversary. The only crazy thing is that during the session I almost fainted. I started blacking out and got really white and clamy. So we ended up having to leave half way through the session. But we still had a good time. After we went to the meltling pot for dinner. It was both our first time there so we didn't know what to expect. Lets just say we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the desert. The meal wasn't our favorite. After dinner we went on the horse carriage ride around downtown. It was very fun an relaxing.

GIRL!

Well it looks like we are going to be welcoming a sweet little girl into our family. I went to the doctor a couple of days ago and he was pretty sure it is going to be a girl. I am very excited to have both a girl and boy. We are going to wait to decide on the name when we see her. If she is blonde we want to name her Skylee and if she is dark we want to name her Jersey. I love both names so the wait to name her won't be to hard.

For Easter we had a big breakfast with the Hammer side of the family. We also had an easter egg hunt for all the little kids. Jagger loved it this year. After, we went to my parents and had dinner. Jagger also had another easter egg hunt there. We rode the horses and just hung out all day. It was a great easter day.

Well Jeff received his call yesterday, and has been called to serve in Georgia. He will be serving in the northern part of Georgia. He leaves July 1st. Congrats Jeff! We are excited for you and will miss you.

A trip to the Aquarium

This past saturday we went to the living planet aquarium in Sandy. It was a really neat place. Jagger had so much fun. One of his favorite things to watch was the turtles. They have all sorts of different fish, frogs, snakes, etc. They also have a place where you can touch sting rays, but me and Jag were not having any of that. Chew tried it out and said that they felt really rough and tough. My favorite part was seeing the giant octupus. They are such crazy looking creatures. This is definitely a place I would visit again.

Treehouse Museum

This past week chew has had work off for spring break so we have had lots of time to hang out. On monday we took Jagger to the ogden treehouse museum. It is such a great place for little kids. We could have spent hours there but got there only a couple hours before they closed. They have all these little exhibits and displays of things were they learn many different things. They can play dress up and do little activities. Jag had a blast.

Well we are having another baby. It was our little valentines day surprise, ( a YES on the pregnancy test). I just went to the doctor on Wed and my doctor told me my due date is Oct. 17th. We are really excited to be parents again. But I'm not to excited about the pregnancy part. I have already been very tired and sick. Oh well, it really is worth it when it is all said and done. There is nothing better than being a parent.

Valentines Day Weekend

For Valentines Day this year we decided to go spend the weekend in Cedar City. We stayed with my sister Desi and brother in law Lee. We had a great time. On Friday when we got there we went to the SUU gymnastics meet. It was so fun to see some of my old teammates there. SUU beat the BYU cougars by quite a bit. Go T-birds! Watching meets really makes me miss competing. Saturday morning we got up and went snowboarding at Brian Head. It couldn't have been a better day for snowboarding.

It was a blast. After we went snowboarding we got some lunch and went hot tubing at one of the hotels in Cedar. After we got all rested up we went to dinner at the Ninja. It was really good food.

Then we just went back to Desi and Lee's house and watched a movie. It was an awesome weekend. Thanks Lee and Desi

Sorry it has been such a long time since I have posted anything. Me and Jagger were sick for about half the month of January, and nothing to exciting has happened. Jagger is just growing like crazy. New Years Day

For new years day we decided to take Jagger sledding for his first time. We totally thought he would love it, but that was not the case. First of all he hates having a ton of things on him so the sledding experience started off rough, because we had to get him bundled up. The first time down on the sled he was like what is going on. The more we went down the more scared he became. So we only went down about eight times and then decided we better be done before we ruin our kid.

Desi and Lee Wedding

Desi and Lee were married this past Saturday in the Manti Temple. Afterwards they had a dinner and program at the Clarion Manor in Payson. Me, Nicole, my mom, Lee's sister and Lee's dad all did a tribute to Desi and Lee, following was the dinner. It was really good food. Then Desi made a slide show that was shown. Following the slide show was the best part of the whole night. Desi and my dad had their father daughter dance. They danced to butterfly kisses, but all of a sudden the music skipped and went to a fast dance song. The next thing we knew my dad and sister bust out a choregraphed routine. It was so funny. It looked like a dance straight out of napoline dynamite. It was great. I couldn't believe my sister got my dad to do it.

This christmas we spent at my mom and dads house in Genola. We usually stay at our house christmas morning but this year there was a huge storm so we decided to drive down christmas eve night. Grandma and grandpa shaw were so excited to have Jagger there christmas morning. Jagger was so cute christmas morning he went and grabbed all his presents and started handing them out to everyone, instead of opening them up for himself. Christmas really is so much more fun when you have kids.

On Sunday I met up with some of my friends from SUU that did gymnastics with me. Carly who lives in San Deigo is doing an internship in Sandy, and Leah who is from Minnesota is also doing her teaching internship in Payson. It was so good to see them. It had been so long since we had seen each other. I truly miss the days of spending almost every minute with the girls in the gym. We had so many fun times together.

Webers Final Game of the Season

This past saturday was the last game for the wildcats. They lost to Montana in the quarter finals of the playoffs, so that meant they were done. It was such a fun game though, probably the loudest game I have ever been too. The fans in Montana are crazy about their football team. Weber ended up with a 10-4 season and a conference championship, so it was a bitter-sweet finish to the year.

Thanksgiving Weekend

* Weber Wins First Playoff Game!

Weber played against Cal Poly for thier first playoff game this weekend. It was quite the game but Weber ended up on top. This means that thier next game will be against Montana, a team they have already beat this year. This has been the best football team in Weber State history so lets hope they can go all the way to the championship game. That means they will need two more wins. Go Cats!

*Thanksgiving Day
For Thanksgiving we went down to my grandma and grandpa McPherson's house. The food was great, especially my mom's homemade pie. Anyone that has eaten it will agree it trully is the best pie.

*Desi got engaged the day after Thanksgiving!
Yes it is true. Desi is getting married Dec.27th. She is marrying a longtime childhood crush from Cedar City, named Lee. Talk about knowing exactly who you are supposed to marry. They were engaged just a little over two weeks of Desi being back from her mission. They are perfect for each other.

This Halloween we went with some friends to the Layton Hills Mall to go trick or treating. We had a lot more fun this year because Jag actually could trick or treat. He kept looking in his trick or treat bag wondering why people kept giving him candy, it was so funny.

Successful Weekend

Gymnastics:
This past week my gymnastics team had a competition in Midvale at Hunt's gymnastics. They had a really good meet. My level 5 team placed second and the level 6's took first. A bunch of the girls placed individually as well. Go North Davis!
Football:
On Saturday Weber played at Northern Arizona University. They went into the game just one spot behind NAU in the rankings. Both teams were undefeated in the Big Sky, so it was a big game. Well Weber played a great game and ended up winning. So they are #1 in the Big Sky, and in great position to make the playoffs. Yeah Weber!

Last Saturday Weber beat another conference team, Northern Colorado. This now puts weber 4-0 in conference play which bumped them up to #16 in the Nation. It was such a nice day for a football game. Weber Faces Montana State

Football update:
Last week weber beat one of the toughest teams in the big sky conference, Univeristy of Montana. They broke a ten year losing streak to them, which was a huge accomplishment. This weekend Weber is heading to Montana to play the nationally ranked Montana State. Weber is 4-2 this season suffering losses only to University of Utah and University of Hawaii. They are 2-0 in there conference play and actually ranked in the top 25 in the nation right now. So hopefully they can continue doing what they are doing. Winning always makes life a lot better for a coaches family so lets all just keep praying Weber keeps winning.

Louisiana Wedding

Last weekend my friend and teammate from college got married in Louisiana. Me and my coach Scott decided to go. Well it turned out to be the longest and shortest trip I have ever been on. We flew out of SLC Saturday morning really early. We then had a layover in Denver for about two hours. Then we flew into the New Orleans airport with only about an hour or two before the wedding. So we drove straight to the church were she got married. It was so good to see her and her family. She looked beautiful. The wedding was one of the best weddings I have been to. It was really nice. We had the privilege of eating some of the best cajun food at the reception; definitely food that I usually do not eat. Well after the wedding we went directly to our hotel and crashed. The next morning we started off pretty early again. The sad thing is, is that we didn't get to see much of anything in Louisiana, just a bunch of swamp land. I wish we would have had more time. But with flights now a days it is kind of unheard of to find a good flight and price. So our traveling adventure home began by flying into North Carolina from New Orleans. Then we got on a flight to Chicago, where we had a two hour layover. By this time we were really sick of traveling and still had a three hour flight from Chicago to SLC. We did eventually make it home ten hours later.

It sure was a crazy trip but I wouldn't have missed it. I was so lucky that I actually got to go, thanks to my husband for setting it up. Congrats Rachel and Chris!!

Weekend in Genola

This weekend me and Jagger went to my parents house in Genola while chew went to California for a football game. Jag loves going to grandma and grandpa Shaw's house because he gets to ride the horses. Horse is one of the first words that Jag has learned to say. We can't keep him off the horses when we are there. He especially loves the brand new colt that my old horse just had.

Jennica brought over Kanyon, (Jag's little buddy) and they played and rode the horses. They don't get to see each other that often, but when they do they have fun with each other.

When Jagger can't be outside riding the horses, his next best thing is grandpa shaw. Jag rode on his back for about fifteen minutes one night. It was so funny.

HAWAII

This past weekend we visited the beautiful world of Hawaii. Weber State had a game against the University of Hawaii, and lucky for me, I got to go with the team. We stayed at Turtle Bay Resort in Honolulu. It was so pretty and relaxing. We were only there for four days, but we had so much fun.

Weber played a really tough game against Hawaii in the first half. They were leading the half 17-7. It looked like they had a chance to win, but then in the second half it all changed. Weber ended up loosing 32-17. It was a very fun and loud game.

The last day in Hawaii we had a picnic thrown by some of the parents at Waikiki beach. We had really great food, and fun playing around on the beach. These are some pictures of the football players enjoying their time in Hawaii.

These are just a few pictures of us at the resort. While we were there we mostly just swam and enjoyed our time on the beach, and did a little snorkeling.

Home Owners.... FINALLY!

Well we finally bought our first home last week. It is a condo in South Ogden. I wouldn't say it is our dream home but it is going to be a good starter home for us. It is such a good feeling to be a home owner. We have painted the master bedroom and Jaggers bedroom, and plan on remodeling the bathroom in the next month or so. It is so nice to do whatever I want to our house. We Love It!!
